The Luís Seoane Foundation is a centre of contemporary art and culture dedicated to the distribution and discussion of the vast and diversified work of the Galician painter and writer.  On display here are paintings, screen printings, engravings, drawings, and posters, that show the artist’s multifaceted talents, with particular reference to editorial design. Temporary, exhibitions that introduce the public to new artistic trends, publishing projects and lecture series are also held on a regular basis.

The foundation’s headquarters is a modern container built by the architects Juan Creus and Covadonga Carrasco, inaugurated in 2003. The building is located on the site of the former Macanaz Barracks, of which only the parade ground remains.  The structure, of 1,200m2 resembles a giant granary with a glazed latticework that adds lightness to the architectural ensemble.  Inside, there are two exhibition halls and an auditorium on the ground floor, a permanent exhibition hall and two temporary exhibition halls on the first floor, and a library on the upper floor.
