The home of the Marquis of San Martín of Hombreiro is also known as Casa Ozores, named after the family´s surname who lived in the building for generations and who were closely linked to the Galician Royal Academy of Fine Arts.  Among its distinguished occupants are names such as artillery colonel Jaime Ozores de Prado, president of the Academy in 1901, and his son, painter Jaime Ozores Marquina.

The building was constructed at the end of the 18th century and the project was led by one of the most distinguished architects of the time, Melchor de Prado.  The main façade facing the Rúa do Parrote dates back to this period. It is very modest and has few decorative elements, the most notable of which are the galleries on the second floor that flank a balcony with a wrought iron grille.

The front part radically contrasts with the magnificent rear façade, which overlooks the Rúa Tabernas.  It was refurbished in 1910 by the architect Juan de Ciórraga, commissioned by the owner Jaime Ozores de Prado.  The result was the addition of a spectacular modernist gallery where glass, wood and wrought iron are masterfully combined.  The ensemble is topped off with an ornate loft decorated with exquisite marquetry.
